Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough LEP

The Greater Cambridge Greater Peterborough Local Enterprise Partnership (GCGP LEP) is focused on helping to drive forward sustainable economic growth in its area and is the UK’s leader in agriculture, food and drink.

The LEP covers an area with a population of 1.3 million people, which is estimated to grow to 1.5 million by 2031. When it comes to Europe, their focus is on exploring new ways of funding infrastructure and enterprise investment. One way they intend to do this is to identify the finance gap for innovative SMEs looking to expand.

By 2025, the LEP’s goal is to create an economy with 80,000 major businesses and 100,000 new jobs within an internationally significant low carbon, knowledge-based economy.

The LEP has been allocated approximately £32 million of European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) funding and with it, aims to develop their economy to bring together the diverse strengths of the area.
