East of England calls for clarity on future of EU funding

The East of England Europe and International Panel has sent a letter to UK ministers calling on them to provide clarity on the future of EU funding.

The letter asks ministers to provide certainty over the long term future of the European Structural and Investment Funds, Horizon 2020, Interreg, LEADER and other programmes beneficial to the East of England.

Ministers are also urged to consider maintaining the UK's participation in the EU's research and innovation programme, Horizon 2020. The Horizon 2020 programme has so far provided over €250 million in investment for SMEs, universities and research institutes in the East of England.

The Europe and International Panel also ask ministers to commit to maintaining England’s full participation in the France (Channel) England programme and other Interreg programmes until the end of 2020.

The letter was sent to ministers on the 27th September 2016.
