European Maritime Day, 18-19 May, Poole

European Maritime Day is the annual meeting point for Europe’s maritime community to network, discuss and forge joint actions. The conference and exhibition will be held on 18-19 May 2017 in Poole.

The two day conference, a joint collaboration between the Borough of Poole Council, the UK Government and the European Commission, is entitled, "The Future of our Seas" and will include high-level sessions and stakeholder workshops, attracting delegates and experts from across Europe and beyond.

The programme includes more than 30 stakeholder workshops and project pitches on the following themes: 1) Innovation & Growth, 2) People & Skills, 3) Safety & Security, 4) Sustainability & Governance.

It also includes conference sessions, including inspirational key-notes, a leadership exchange, a practitioner's exchange on sea-basin strategies, as well as a project launch for the 2017 European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) Blue Growth call.

The European Maritime Day is featuring as part of the broader Poole Maritime Festival, which includes a specialist Business Programme of events in cooperation with Dorset LEP, a Public Festival and other celebratory events.

As in previous years all interested stakeholders are invited to get actively involved in shaping the event.
